There are people for whom religion (or a snake in the pocket) simply forbids them from enjoying themselves. Car or fashion accessories are not for them. Most willingly, they spend their lives pouring boiling water over lichens and enjoying a dinner prepared in this way.
It is quite commonly said that the profitability of the automotive industry is determined by the ability to place wholesale orders at super low prices. Another secret is the recipe for selling cars as „naked” as possible.
In more expensive brands, it may be less visible, but a glance into the Jetta’s cabin makes us feel like a student in front of a blank blackboard. And there is no certainty whether our knowledge is enough to write anything on it.
The orderer of this VW must have felt the same way. The rim is nice, the body too. But this diesel, four gears and the absolute lack of anything to tinker with in traffic jams do make a depressing impression.
The only way to break the depression is a passenger with whom you can talk and joke for hours. Such a ride will certainly not get bored. But I don’t know if it’s okay for a Puritan to enjoy human contact.
